Air Duct Cleaning Cleveland - FAQs

“Hey, Lori.”

“Hi, Mark.”

“I heard you wanted to hear about our air cleaning service.”

“I do, I do. We’ve got some dogs, and I feel like we’ve been in this house for a while, so it’s time. I guess. Have you ever had it done in your house before?”

“No, I feel like we’re due.”

“Nice, nice. The way I like to explain it to homeowners – how we differentiate ourselves a little bit from other companies – is to start by saying: think of your air ducts as the lungs of your house. A lot of times, whatever you’re breathing in here is going through your air ducts. I even did a little doodle here.”

“I appreciate that. That helps.”

“Alright. Essentially, whatever you’re breathing in is pretty much going through your air ducts. The way our service works is a whole-home service. What that means is when we arrive at your house, you can anticipate we’ll have one technician and one project manager. They’re going into each and every one of your rooms. And I bring this up because some companies do a low introductory cost, then they come to your house and say, ‘Hey, if you wanted to do this room, it’s an additional $100.’ We decided to eliminate all that guesswork and make it one price for the whole home.”

“So what goes into the service is as follows. Everywhere you have vents, we take compressed air and push all that dust and debris down to the furnace. Why the furnace? Because the furnace is what pushes all the air – think of it as the air handler. Depending on how big your house is, prepare for anywhere from four to five hours. The guys are going to be going into each and every room, pushing the air down into this section.”

“Should I be concerned if they’re pushing all of that into my furnace?”

“Great question. Here’s what they do. We take two really powerful vacuums and attach them a couple different ways. Most of the time it’s either in the furnace or in what we call the trunk line. Your furnace is going to be shut off the entire time – completely off while they’re working. And they’re pushing everything into those 220-volt vacuums – very powerful suction. Naturally over time you do have lint that gets built up too, so we also clean your dryer vent.”

“Toward the end of the service, we use a broad-spectrum antimicrobial mist. This helps eliminate things like dog odors and bacteria, and helps the house feel fresh when we’re done.”

“That’s good because we have dogs, and that’s one thing I’m always concerned about – the smell of our house because of our animals.”

“Great. And real quick, thank you for sharing the process with me. I’m not sure if there’s more to it that I interrupted, but can we talk about pricing? I want to be really clear.”

“Yeah. Our charge to come out is $970 for houses up to 2,500 square feet.”

“Our house is significantly bigger than that – should I…?”

“Yeah, no, great question. Above and beyond 2,500 square feet, we charge 45 cents a square foot.”

“Oh, that’s it?”

“Yeah. Now, if you do have an additional furnace – like some houses have a furnace in the attic and a furnace in the basement – we do charge an additional $400 for that furnace. And when I say furnace, that gets included: we clean and disinfect that furnace. In your furnace you have what’s called an A-coil. Imagine air, dog hair – all that goes over those coils. Our guys disinfect and vacuum all that off, and that’s included in the service as well.”

“Is it like the coil in my air conditioner outside, in my furnace, or is it different?”

“Exactly – nope, you’re on the right track. It’s like that process.”

“Okay, good. That’s great.”

“Last question I can think of, and I appreciate you clarifying that. If you guys do this, would I still need to have my furnace serviced?”

“Our wheelhouse is the cleaning. But in terms of the health and well-being of the furnace – the motor and all the functionality – that’s where an HVAC professional comes in. Now, our guys go to hundreds of houses, so if there’s something they notice, they will mention it to you.”

“Let’s take this a step further. What does day one look like if you hire us? Number one, you’ll never see our guys inside your house without shoe covers. And you’ll notice the small things I didn’t even bring up – like corner guards around your house. They’re going to be going around with hoses, so we want to honor your home. You’re going to love our guys. Like I mentioned before, be prepared: four or five hours, the guys are going to be in there. I’m not gonna lie – your dogs probably aren’t going to like me. It’s a little loud for a while.”

“My dogs love everybody.”

“So everyone’s gonna have a good time. Any other questions for you, Lori?”

“No, you covered the process, you covered the pricing. I really appreciate the visual because sometimes when I just hear all the information, it’s a lot. So the visual helps. And you answered my random questions. I think we’re good to go. I really look forward to working with your team.”

Understanding the Importance of Clean Air Ducts

Picture your home’s air ducts as its lungs, circulating air to sustain a healthy environment. It’s easy to overlook their maintenance, but air ducts are pivotal for ensuring that the air in your home remains clean and breathable. Neglecting them can lead to an accumulation of dust, allergens, and other contaminants that compromise indoor air quality.

The Comprehensive Cleaning Process

When scheduling a professional air duct cleaning service, it’s essential to look for a company that offers a comprehensive, whole-home solution. A quality service involves a detailed process where every room’s vents are attended to, ensuring that all dust and debris collected are driven towards the furnace.

Upon arrival, you can expect a team usually composed of a technician and a project manager. Their task involves methodically entering each room to clean vents using compressed air. This process continues for several hours, typically lasting between four to five hours, depending on the home’s size.

Integral Role of the Furnace

The furnace plays a crucial role as the air handler during this process. As debris is pushed down to the furnace, it’s essential to ensure its proper management. The cleaning service should incorporate powerful vacuums attached to the furnace or the main trunk line. With the furnace turned off for safety, these vacuums-often 220-watt powerhouses-effectively collect debris without risking damage.

Beyond just cleaning air ducts, a thorough service should include an antimicrobial mist application to mitigate odors-such as those from pets-and eradicate bacteria, leaving the home’s air fresh and sanitized.

Pricing Structure Explained

How much does air duct cleaning cost in Cleveland?

Generally, our base cost is around $970 for homes up to 2,500 square feet. For larger homes, additional charges apply-specifically, $0.45 per square foot beyond the initial size threshold. Should there be more than one furnace, as in homes with separate systems in the attic and basement, an additional fee of approximately $400 per extra furnace is standard.

It’s worthwhile to note that the service also includes cleaning and disinfecting components like the A-coil in the furnace. This includes vacuuming and disinfecting areas where dust or pet hair may accumulate, ensuring the HVAC system remains efficient.

Should You Still Service Your Furnace Separately?

While air duct cleaning is vital for air quality, it’s not a substitute for a full furnace maintenance service. The cleaning targets the ducts and related components, but regular HVAC maintenance by a professional is necessary to address the furnace’s health, motor, and overall functionality. The service team may, however, report any noticeable issues during the cleaning.

The Customer Experience

From the onset, the service’s attention to detail should be evident. Technicians will wear shoe covers and use corner guards to protect your home while they work. Homeowners can expect courteous, professional service, completed efficiently and with minimal disruption, although pets may be initially disturbed by the activity.

Planning and transparency in process and pricing alleviate customer concerns, fostering trust and satisfaction. The comprehensive explanation of service provided ensures that homeowners are well-informed about what to expect, resulting in a smooth, anticipated experience. As a final note, a thorough cleaning service addresses diverse client needs while promoting a healthier living space through improved indoor air quality.

FAQs

How much does your air duct cleaning service cost?

Our whole-home air duct cleaning is $970 for homes up to 2,500 square feet. For larger homes, we charge an additional $0.45 per square foot beyond that. If your home has more than one furnace—like one in the attic and one in the basement—there’s an additional $400 charge per extra furnace, which includes cleaning and disinfecting that unit. The service also includes dryer vent cleaning and an antimicrobial mist treatment at no extra cost. No surprise fees, no per-room upcharges—just one price for your whole home.

Do I still need to have my furnace serviced separately?

Yes. Our wheelhouse is cleaning—we focus on removing dust, debris, and contaminants from your ductwork and sanitizing your system. But for the health of your furnace itself—the motor, functionality, and mechanical components—you’ll still want an HVAC professional to handle regular maintenance. That said, our guys visit hundreds of homes, so if they notice something concerning during the cleaning, they’ll definitely let you know.

Should I be concerned about all that dust being pushed into my furnace?

Great question—and one we hear often! During the cleaning, your furnace is completely shut off the entire time. We attach two powerful 220-volt vacuums to either the furnace or the trunk line, creating strong suction that captures all the dust and debris as it’s pushed down. Nothing gets left behind in your system. We also clean and disinfect the A-coil inside your furnace, where dust and pet hair tend to accumulate over time.
